When you step into The Enchanted Garden, you’re not just entering a world of magic and wonder but also a realm of accessibility. This beloved annual event at Roma Street Parkland strives to make its enchanting experience available to everyone, regardless of their mobility or special needs. Let’s take a stroll through the garden and explore the accessibility features that make this event truly magical for all.
Accessible Event Route Entry
While the main entry lineup to the event route is wheelchair accessible, we understand not all guests can be in a crowded line due to sensory and physical needs. Guests can wait for their entry time without being overwhelmed by the crowd at the VIP lane. Look out for blue wheelchair accessible signage on-site directing to our VIP lane. Please see staff at the ticketing line for more information.
Please note, you’ll enter the route in your ticketed time slot. This entry is not permitted solely for pram access, however if a patron with sensory or physical needs has a pram entry is welcome.
Wheelchair-Friendly Event Route
The Enchanted Garden has worked diligently to ensure everyone can enjoy the illuminated wonderland. The event features wheelchair-friendly routes through the event route. Attendees with mobility challenges can meander through the garden’s winding paths just like everyone else, taking in the dazzling light displays and enchanting scenery. The Enchanted Garden has a low-sensory session which has reduced lighting and crowds to accommodate those who may benefit from this type of session.
Event Route Accessibility
The magic of The Enchanted Garden doesn’t stop at the pathways. The entire event route designed with accessibility in mind. On the route, you’ll find wide, flat spaces that provide easy access to the different areas, making it a breeze for visitors with wheelchairs or mobility aids to explore and enjoy the lights.
Accessible Bathrooms
A key component of ensuring an inclusive experience is providing accessible bathroom facilities. Roma Street Parkland has three accessible bathrooms – at the Amphitheatre, by the Lakeside BBQ’s (near Celebration Lawn) and in the Carriage shed (near The Garden Room café).
Accessible Parking
Getting to The Enchanted Garden is made convenient for all guests, including those with disabilities, thanks to the accessible parking options available at Roma Street Parkland. There are signed disability-accessible parking spaces located around the parkland. These designated car parks are located in College Close car park (approximately 330m from entry), City Saddle View (approximately 400m from entry) and Parkland Boulevard (approximately 270m from entry).
